Stannah Stairlift Cost

A Stannah Stairlift will cost from £1,000 up to £10,000 depending on the specification you need. The main factors in the full installation cost are:

  • The type of stairlift required: straight staircase, curved staircase, outdoor staircase or narrow staircase

  • If you have a curved staircase the number of corners has a big impact on the cost

  • The range of stairlift chosen: Stannah have more premium stairlifts along with more value focussed ones

  • Whether you want a new or a reconditioned (used) stairlift

  • How complicated the installation will be, e.g. if there are obstacles to the tracks or no power sockets near the stairlift.

  • How many addtional extras are chosen

We cover all of these points in more detail below to help guide you to the right stairlift for your needs and budget.

Stannah Stairlift Running Cost

  • Stannah stairlifts cost about £13 - £19 per year in electricity cost to run, which is about 3.5p to 5.5p per day.

  • Once installed they are very cost effective to run.

Stannah Straight Stairlift Cost

A straight Stannah stairlift will cost from £2,000 to £4,000 depending on:

  • whether the stairlift is new (from £2,500) or used (from £1,000).

  • which model is chosen, the top of the range Starla is £495 and mid range Siena is £295 more than the entry level Saddler.

  • Additional extras added to the installation.

What is a Straight Stairlift

  • A straight stairlift is the most straight forward and is designed to carry a person up a flight of stairs with no corners, bends, turns or landings halfway up.

  • It's called a straight stairlift as the rail the chair travels along has no curves in it.

  • The rail can be fixed to the stairs or the wall depending on the make and model of the stairlift.

  • They are generally cheaper and quicker to install than curved stairlifts as both the engineering and installation are much more striaght forward.

  • the Stannah stairlift model chosen with the flagship Starla being £1,700 to £2,000 more than the entry level Saddler range for the same specification curved stairlift.

  • Although it is possible to get used curved stairlifts they tend to not be as cost effective as straight ones as many have bespoke fitting to indiviual staircases so it takes more work and cost to install to a different staircase.

What is a Curved Stairlift

  • A curved stairlft is much more complex than a straight stairlift due to it having to navigate around corners and mid staircase landings.

  • The rail the chair travels up is designed to curve as the staircase curves for a smooth ride, with many being custom builds.

  • Depending on the model the rail will be attached to the wall or the stairs themselves.

  • They tend to be more expensive and take longer to fit than a straight stairlift.
